President (2008-09) Profile :

Dinanath was born in a small village in Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra. He comes from a middle class Saraswat family. He had to struggle for everything right from his childhood, including schooling. He has to his experience his encounters with snakes, foxes, wild boar and tigers on his way to school which was an eight miles long jungle walk everyday for him.

He completed his Secondary School Examination with flying colors from his village & came to Mumbai for higher education. However due to financial problems, he opted to continue his higher studies while earning. He completed his Bachelors degree with Honors in Commerce from Mumbai University, followed by Masters in the same faculty, a Gold medalist in International Economics. He is also a DFM holder and qualified Inter ICWA. After changing a few jobs here & there, he finally settled with the famous Multinational – Hindustan Unilever Ltd and put in 35 plus years of service. He bears wide experience in commercial field viz. supply chain, logistics, purchasing, planning & finance. A widely traveled person and on personal front, he enjoys travel, photography & watching sports events.

Dinanath was introduced to Rotary by club charter Secretary Dr. VN alias Nana Joshi. He has worked as Director as well as Secretary for RCTE. Already a PHF member now takes over as President of the club for RY 2008 – 09. Dinanath is happily married to Meenakshi who is an active member, Past Secretary & President of Inner Wheel Club. The couple is blessed with daughter Gauri who is an Architect and son Tanmay who is currently pursuing his post graduate studies in UK
